Amber Alignment
The dark space under the metal bench was hollow... dead weight. I crept into the narrow clearance between the cast-iron legs. An empty amber glass bottle was resting sideways against the wall, coated in dust. Inert vessel. I shifted my stance, braced my shoulder against the cold masonry, and nudged the heavy base until it caught the low beam of light spilling through the doorway. The amber curved outward... casting a dense, honey-gold arc directly into the center of the dark floorboards. A sharp focal point carved out of the shadow. Silence rearranged.
