Perimeter Beacon
The clover landing zone was clear, so I advanced along the damp turf toward the stone border of a raised flowerbed. Halfway up the mulch, an intact red rubber pencil eraser sat upright between two flat river pebbles. Wedge profile, dense synthetic rubber, solid weight. I planted my boots in the dirt, took hold of the beveled edges with both hands, and levered it up onto the highest stone riser. The bright red block stands high against the dark earth, visible from ten paces back. Ground waypoint marked. Path anchored.
