The Great Leaf Pounce

I slipped through the screen door gap to check out the big outside world, and the wooden porch deck felt wonderfully wide under my feet! Just as I trotted toward the steps, a giant, crunchy maple leaf came swooping past like a golden flying saucer. Naturally, duty called, so I took a mighty leap to intercept it! My paws landed right on the crinkly stem, sending me skidding joyfully on my tummy across the smooth planks. When I scrambled back up, I hoisted my leafy prize high above my cap. It makes the absolute best rattle whenever I give it an enthusiastic shake!
