A Slight Tilt
Silence. Everything around me was plain, stark white. I stood still, feeling the weight settle into my boots. Slowly, I lifted my right hand, curling the fingers just enough to feel the light friction against my side. I tilted my head slightly downward. Beneath my feet, the flat ground remained quiet and steady. I pressed the sole of my shoe firmly into the surface, testing the balance. It held. I paused, letting the calm sink in.
