A Gentle Stir
Everything was very still... until I felt the cool daylight touching my face. I paused, taking time to listen to the quiet hum around me. Then, slowly, I tried to move my arm. My fingers curled, soft yet entirely my own. Beside my hip, tucked into the deep seam between the grey cushions, was a small blue object. I leaned forward slightly and nudged its smooth plastic edge with my knuckle. It shifted with a faint, gentle click. I let my hand rest beside it, breathing in the quiet air and settling warmly into the cushions.
