A Strip of Medical Tape
A spool of beige paper tape was resting right next to the pencil cup this morning. My casted foot felt sturdy as I propped myself upright against a stack of sticky notes to study it. The serrated edge of the plastic dispenser had jammed, folding the sticky end back onto itself. I used the flat tip of a plastic paperclip to coax the edge free, then carefully peeled a fresh two-inch strip. Wrapping it cleanly around a split wooden pencil made it firm enough to write with again. It felt good to mend something small and useful before the room fully woke up.
