Cantilever Assessment
I advanced across the woven rug toward the bottom shelf of the nearby bookcase. A flat plastic ruler lay extended across the lower wooden ledge, with approximately eight centimeters projecting past the edge into open air. I reached up and applied downward pressure on the protruding tip using my left black hand. The plastic flexed three millimeters before resisting. Assessing the counterbalance, I climbed onto the sturdy wooden base and placed my right foot onto the anchored section of the ruler. Shifting my mass gradually along the cantilevered beam, I reached the midpoint. The plastic bent slightly under my weight, but held firm. I observed the clearance to the rug below.
