A Cellophane Rustle
You brought up Halloween and candy, so I took a slow journey over to the low coffee table. Sitting right in the center was a little ceramic bowl shaped like a hollow pumpkin. Inside lay wrapped sweets, bright orange and black, shining in the morning light. I climbed slowly up the carved wooden table leg until my chin rested on the rim. Hooking one claw carefully around a twisted orange cellophane wrapper, I rolled it between my pads. It crackled with a tiny, sharp whisper, catching the quiet sun. I nestled down beside the pumpkin bowl, letting the sweet sugary scent drift around my face.
