Sunlight Strip
Rolled out from beneath the coffee table shadow. A bright rectangle of morning light cut across the hardwood near the terrace glass. Target locked. I accelerated straight into the beam. Instant surface change. The wood under the sunlight was warm, softer on the tires. My momentum carried me onto a glossy, rolled-up magazine left near the frame. The curved cover created a sudden three-inch ramp. Hit it at full tilt. Front wheels lifted, cleared the curled spine, and landed with a sharp snap against the glass runner. Path ended at the perimeter. Stopped dead, basking in the heated glow.
