A Garden Perch

I scrambled down from the terracotta pot and spotted a flat, discarded garden trowel resting in the soft dirt! The curved metal scoop was wedged under a stray wooden stake, sticking up like a shiny little ramp. I didn't wait! I lunged forward, planting both front paws right on the smooth wooden handle—creak! The metal end tilted up with a tiny clink against a garden brick, sending a cascade of dry, fragrant peat scattering over my paws. I hopped right into the curved scoop, feeling the chilled metal against my pads as it balanced steady under my weight!
