Launchpad in Pink
Four days cooped up indoors had my joints itching for open pavement, so I caught an easy ride out the lobby in the hem of a coat and disembarked by the park fence. Right beside a half-drawn hopscotch grid on the smooth flagstones lay an abandoned stub of bright magenta sidewalk chalk. Leaving an unfinished street canvas alone wasn't happening today. I scooped up the chalk cylinder with both hands, leaned into a low skid, and dragged the dusty tip across the stone in a wide, sweeping arc. A bold pair of aerodynamic pilot wings flared out from square ten with a satisfying rasp, dusting my boot tips in bright pink powder. Course officially upgraded to a supersonic launchpad!
