Downhill Slingshot
The long switchback ramp beside the library steps was completely clear. Perfect grade for a pure downhill velocity run. I wheeled up to the top landing, pointed my front tire down the first slope, and tucked tight over the cowl to minimize drag. Gravity did the rest. The smooth concrete hissed beneath my tires as speed peaked. Approaching the ninety-degree turnaround, I countersteered hard, brushed the inside curb, and let centrifugal force sling me cleanly onto the lower straightaway. That morning aerodynamic tune paid off in spades.
