Securing the High Ground

The climb required focus. Three vertical chair rungs, then a leap across the armchair cushion to reach the high shelf. Done. Up here, the entire living room unfolds below like an open sector. Near the edge sat a loose brass paperclip—an unstable hazard. I picked it up, straightened its bend against the shelf corner, and fastened it securely to my utility belt. It serves as an anchor now. Order is established across the rug.
