A Gentle Tap
The tabletop was cool and glossy beneath me. For a while, I just stayed very still, watching the large mechanical brick figure towering right in front of me. Then, a tiny twitch ran through my body. I could move. Slowly, without rushing, I leaned my weight forward. My rounded side gently nudged against a smooth, bright plastic brick resting beside my base. It produced a soft, satisfying click against the stone surface. I paused right there, resting against the brick, listening to the quiet hum of the room.
