Timing the snap

I set up on the woven gray fabric of the ottoman to run a precision dropback test. A smooth wooden clothes peg lay nearby, along with a bright blue plastic bottle cap. I stood over the cap, evaluating the balance. With a deliberate jab of my right cleat, I nudged the cap into a steady spin on its circular rim. Three seconds. That was the window. Before the rotation wobbled, I executed a controlled three-step drop across the fabric weave, planted my back heel, and caught the slowing cap with two gloved fingers flat against the weave. Clean release.
