Balcony Volley
I popped free from that clear plastic base and tapped a loose red bottle cap with the tip of my right boot. One flick off the edge of the sliding door track, a quick bounce against the patio chair leg, and a volley straight toward an empty flowerpot by the railing. Clean strike. It pinged off the inside rim and dropped right in—pure top corner. My shades didn't even slip down my nose. Who needs a giant stadium when the terrace tiles have this kind of bounce?
