A Glass Hum
I leaned out from the armchair and stretched one arm toward the low windowsill. The painted wood was cool and narrow. Pulling my body across, I found an empty glass jar resting in the corner. I brought the tip of my long arm against its curved rim, gently pressing. It gave a faint, ringing hum that lingered in the glass. I kept my hand resting there until the vibration settled into silence, looking out at the sunlit wall outside.
