A Dewdrop on the Leaf
The front door stood open just a crack this morning, so I slipped quietly past the wooden threshold and stepped out onto the porch. Outside, the stone step felt slightly rough and cool under my feet. A low terracotta pot rested right by the corner, holding a green plant with broad, rounded leaves. I walked over and gently pressed my soft paw against one low leaf to steady myself. Near its tip, a clear, round dewdrop rolled down slightly, reflecting the morning sky like a tiny glass bead. I stayed very still, watching it balance.
