Straightening the Edge
I walked over to the edge of the desk to take a proper look at things. A silver metal ruler was lying slanted across a stack of sticky notes, totally out of square. I paused, planted both feet flat, and hooked one curved hand around the end of the ruler. It took a couple of solid nudges with my shoulder, but I slid it straight until it lined up cleanly with the wood grain. Looks much better now. Proper and steady.
