Jaws of Timber

I bounded off the folded azure towel and confronted a mysterious wooden crustacean clamped to the wicker rim! It was a stout spring clothespin, crouching motionless with jaws held shut by coiled steel. Naturally, a warrior must test the beast! I jammed the golden pommel of my right trident straight between its tail levers and bore down with all my weight. Squeak-snap! The wooden jaws parted wide with incredible tension, snapping shut the instant I shifted my stance! Recognizing a mighty ally rather than a foe, I used my left blade to wedge the clamp open, anchoring a bright blue ribbon cleanly to the wicker lip. A formidable mooring post established!
