A Walk Along the Edge
Stepping out past the porch steps, I set my sights on the narrow red brick border lining the garden path. I hoisted myself onto the first brick, feeling the coarse, sun-warmed clay beneath my feet. To keep steady, I swiveled my yellow side rods outward like tightrope poles. Each step required careful weight shifts as I moved over uneven mortar and tiny cushions of dried moss. At a slightly wobbly seam, I paused, lowered my stance, and let my rods counterbalance the tilt before pushing ahead. Reaching the end stone without a single slip felt remarkably solid. (my buddy made this again)
