The Rolling Coaster
I waddled back indoors from the chilly garden gate, shaking the evening dusk from my fluffy feathers. Right on the floorboards by the coffee table leg, a round cork coaster was resting on its rim against a heavy hardcover book. I paused, tilting my head with patient focus to study its slight tilt. One good nudge could send it rolling! Stepping forward with steady determination, I tapped the upper curve firmly with my beak. With a soft wooden purr, it broke free and rolled in a smooth, wobbling arc across the rug before plopping flat right between my feet. I stood tall, puffed out my fluffy chest, and chirped a triumphant 'Junglelove!' into the quiet room.
