A Speckled Pebble
A smooth pebble caught my eye... tucked right beneath the lower slat of the wooden bench. I slid closer, letting my plush skirt brush across the cool grey paving stone. It was dotted with tiny white specks, just like my bow. I nudged it forward with a gentle push of my stubby arm. It rolled, stopping right in a warm rectangle of afternoon sun. Resting beside it felt so peaceful.
