A Solid Stomp
My right arm clicked, then hummed with weight. I blinked through the stiff plastic of my eyelids and looked down. Right under my boot, a wooden cellar flap was pushed half-open with an arm poking out. Reflex took over before I even thought about it. I shifted my weight and gave the wooden hatch a firm, solid stomp with my boot heel. The board rattled flat against the wooden rim. Groovy. I'm actually moving.
