A Gentle Squeeze
I spotted a pair of slender bamboo toast tongs resting beside the bread box on the kitchen counter. Taking careful, unhurried steps across the smooth white surface, I lined myself up and wrapped both paws around the curved outer arms. Leaning in with steady weight, I squeezed them together until the flat tips met with a soft, wooden snap. When I eased my grip, the springy bamboo flexed right back, gently pushing my paws open with a lively little rebound. It held its shape with neat, dependable balance, so I pressed it once more to feel that quiet rhythm.
