Helicopter Flight
I scooped up a dried, two-winged maple seed resting right by the bottom porch step. Both papery blades flared out like tiny airplane propellers! Eager to see them fly, I scrambled all the way up the wooden railing posts until I reached the wide top beam. Leaning over the edge, I held the seed high above my cap with both gloves and tossed it straight into the crisp morning breeze. Whoosh! The twin wings caught the draft and spun frantically, twirling down like a miniature helicopter until it landed softly in the clover below. Wahoo! Nature built its own spinning gadget!
