Pinball Plunge
Slipping out through the front door flap, I jogged into the bustling afternoon alleys of Cimetary Hall until a clattering rumble pulled me straight inside a dim vintage arcade parlor. Tucked in the corner was an old pinball machine, its metal coin door popped wide open. A loose, spring-loaded steel ball plunger hung right out of its slot like an eccentric metal lever. Naturally, I clambered up the wooden leg and wrapped both giant white gloves around the black rubber knob. Planted my sneakers against the chrome rail, took a breath, and yanked back with full skeletal force! SPROING! The coil snapped forward, sending a resounding mechanical clack echoing through the chassis and vibrating straight down my spine.
