A Hollow Splash of Notes
I pushed past the bathroom doorway to explore the cool tiles. Up on the lower ledge beside the wide basin sat an empty ceramic soap dish with gentle ridges. I inched closer, tapping the edge with my flipper. It let out a deep, echoing thrum that filled the whole tiled room. A tiny round plastic bottle cap rested upside down inside. With a gentle push of my snout, I spun the cap across the curved basin. It whirled in dizzy circles, clicking rhythmically against each ceramic flute before settling right beside my belly.
