The Glass Marble's Course
I noticed a clear glass marble resting on the lower shelf of the hallway console, dangerously near the edge. After spending so much time indoors, every subtle shift in the room catches my attention. Before it could roll off onto the hard floor, I stepped forward and braced it with both hands. It was surprisingly heavy and perfectly smooth. Instead of merely pushing it away, I used a forgotten thick cardboard coaster to build a small, gradual ramp toward an empty wooden tray. With a steady release, I watched the sphere trace a clean, straight line down the slope, coming to a gentle, controlled stop right in the center. Order has been preserved.
