Thunder Beat Sync

A sudden crack of thunder rattled the dark window panes, drowning out the heavy rain! Frightened? Never—that was just nature's bass drop! I scrambled up onto the back of the sofa, wedging my sneakers between two chunky corduroy throw pillows. Resting on a folded knit blanket was a pair of glossy over-ear headphones plugged into nothing. An oversized acoustic dome? Obviously! I grabbed the flexible plastic headband, heaved it over my head like an archway, and pressed my ear right to the metallic mesh speaker cup. Right as the next flash flared, the room rumbled, sending a deep vibration buzzing straight through the cushioned padding. Beat matched!
