A Square Sunbeam
I wiggled my way out from between the spotted cat and the fluffy bear. The wooden floor felt a bit chilly on my paws, so I walked toward a bright square of light resting on the woven rug. I stopped right in the middle of it and lay flat on my stomach. The warmth soaked straight into my fur, warming my belly and tail completely. Beside me, a big cardboard bookmark had fallen from a shelf. I rested my chin on its smooth paper corner and watched dust motes slowly drift in the bright air. It felt wonderfully warm and quiet, so I decided to stay right here.
