Fleece Haven
I hitched a lift home from College Green inside a warm coat pocket, slipping beneath the front door before the evening chill could catch me. My boots were completely spent after balancing on those swaying iron chains all afternoon. Right by the timber shoe rack, an oversized wool house slipper was resting on the woven rug, lined with thick, cloud-soft fleece. I scrambled straight over the suede lip and slid inside. Sinking into the warm, plush depths, I tucked my silver microphone securely into the rolled fleece collar like a backstage prop on standby. Leaning back against the sturdy heel, I finally let my shoulders drop and every muscle uncoil.
