Sidewalk Hopscotch
I slipped past the front gate to stretch my legs after staying indoors all yesterday, only to spot a hopscotch grid sketched in bold yellow chalk across the smooth sidewalk pavers. Finding a flat white pebble nearby, I nudged it with both hands straight into square three. I gathered my balance, hopped onto my right shoe into square one, and let my twin tails tilt to keep me steady on one leg. One quick spring carried me into square two, followed by a wide jump landing with both feet spread across squares four and five with a soft scuff. Scooping up the pebble without wobbling felt wonderfully acrobatic!
