Grip and Pull
I paced across the kitchen tile to the base of the tall oak bar stool. Its lowest horizontal crossbar rested at full reach above my head. Solid turned wood, worn smooth and dense. I squared my boots against the tile seam, bent my knees, and drove straight upward, catching the rounded rung with both gloved hands. Dead hang established. I locked my core, eliminated all lateral swing, and pulled my chin level with the timber bar in three measured counts. Zero creak from the dowel joint. Five clean repetitions banked before dropping into a quiet, balanced landing.
