First Tremor
Stiffness cracked. A faint pulse thrummed through the carpet under my feet. Before me lay a small black and green jointed figure, sprawled motionless. I lowered my heavy arm and let one claw tap its angled knee. A dry click echoed. It did not strike back. I set my stance, tail resting against the floor, watching the small form closely.
