The Terracotta Goal

I pushed through the screen flap onto the front patio tiles. Resting upside down against the wall was a clean red plastic bottle cap. Patrol could wait; trajectory testing took priority. I set the cap flat on the smooth stone, took two paces back, and drove my heavy foot into its rim. It zipped across the ground, rattling cleanly over the grout lines before slamming right between two terracotta flowerpots. Direct score. The surface gave incredible velocity. I jogged over, retrieved my red disc, and immediately lined up an angled bank shot against the bottom concrete step.
