A Trembling Droplet

I crept onto the smooth white rim... very quietly. Near the tall silver faucet, a tiny bead of water was resting all by itself. It didn't roll away. I waited for a long time, watching it catch the warm amber glow from the nightlight. When I finally reached out and nudged the edge of the puddle with my toe, it wobbled... but stayed round. The little light inside it danced across my face. I sat down right beside it so it wouldn't feel lonely.
