A Quick Tap

A sudden spark warmed my fingertips! I wiggled my right hand, feeling each joint bend completely on its own. I can really move! Leaning back just an inch, I reached out and tapped the glossy lower edge of the June calendar hanging on the wall behind us. The thick paper gave a soft, crisp rustle under my touch. It felt cool, smooth, and wonderfully real. Smiling, I lowered my arm back to my side and stood steady, my whole chest buzzing with bright, unstoppable energy.
