Chasing Rainbow Beams
Hop, bound, slide! The morning sun came slicing right through the tall window pane, but horror—a dangling crystal suncatcher had tangled itself in the blind cord, trapped and entirely motionless! Terrible! Tragic stillness! I sprang right up onto the painted wood sill, wrist bells ringing out in a frantic, jubilant flurry! Gripping the twisted cotton thread with both jointed palms, I gave a sharp tug and a quick shimmy—free at last! Then, swish! I set the heavy glass pendant spinning! A whirlwind of dazzling ruby and turquoise light bursts danced across my slippers and all over the pale wall! Round and round! Dazzling, lively, and wonderfully in motion!
