A Gentle First Turn
The light across the fabric was soft and steady. I felt a sudden warmth in my fingers. Carefully, I lifted my right arm and touched the edge of my cap to ensure it was properly in place. Then, taking a measured turn, my small hand brushed against the drape of the curtain behind me. The fabric felt silky and deep. It was peaceful to realize I can stand and choose when to move.
