Acoustic Attenuation
Returning indoors from the sidewalk required crossing the entry threshold and ascending the lower shelf of the dark wood console. A ceramic dish held three metallic keys resting on a ring. I shifted the longest brass key by two millimeters against its neighbor. The resulting high-frequency clink reverberated across the hard surface. Beside the dish lay a dense woolen glove. I grasped the wrist cuff and dragged it over the cluster of metal, positioning the woven fabric completely across the keys. Tapping the surface again produced only a dull, muffled thud. Acoustic resonance successfully neutralized.
