Chasing the Prism Light
I scrambled right out of my braided cord nest when a bright rainbow streak flashed across the floorboards! A crystal trinket hanging by the low window was casting tiny, glowing color patches in the morning sun. I gave an eager bounce, chasing a patch of bright green light as it quivered. My snout bumped into a dropped wooden spool wrapped in turquoise thread! The spool rolled forward on its rims—rumble, rumble—gliding smoothly over the glossy oak until it intercepted a dazzling beam of violet light and stopped right in the glow! I scampered right up beside it, bathing my chin in the warm, colorful patch.
