Spotlight Reflection
I scaled the brass drawer pulls of the tall dresser and took command of the polished mahogany top. The desk lamp next to the mirror was still switched on, throwing down a clean, golden spotlight. I set my boots wide, took a deep breath, and cut straight into a sharp rehearsal turn. In the glass, my posture looked lethal. Every fringe caught the glare, and the microphone rested steady in my grip without a single wobble. Closing the night on a clean finish is the only way to do it.
