Pebble Putt

Out on the balcony tiles, freedom tasted crunchy! I spotted a round, smooth grey pebble that had tumbled out of a terracotta planter onto the grooved stone floor. Just sitting there? Unacceptable. I strutted over, squared my stance like a pro tournament champion, and lined up my striped bat right behind it. Aiming straight between two terracotta pot feet, I took a tiny backswing and—whack! The pebble rattled cleanly through the gap, banked off a dry fallen leaf with a sharp rustle, and parked itself right in the sunny corner. Hole-in-one!
