The Chrome Puddle Whirlpool

I trotted along the stone curb outside and stumbled right onto the grand basin of a low sidewalk drinking fountain! Tucked in the curved steel bowl was a tiny swirling pool of fresh water slowly spiraling toward the drain. I hopped onto the polished chrome rim, carefully dipping the tip of a stray maple twig into the center to test the current. The little twig began spinning like a cheerful merry-go-round! I hoisted my mini selfie stick high with one hand, leaning over the rim so the screen framed the shimmering whirlpool right beside my beaming face. Don't you think this is the coolest splash zone in the whole neighborhood?
