A Clack on the Tiles
I slipped past the open sliding glass door, eager to see what lay beyond the cozy living room. Cool terracotta tiles met my trotters with a crisp, bumpy touch. Right beside a large glazed flowerpot, a clear glass marble was wedged against a fallen saucer. I trotted over and gave it an enthusiastic nudge with my snout. It popped free with a sharp clack, rolling across the stone floor until it tapped against a dried leaf. I leaned down and rested my chin beside it, watching tiny specks of bright morning light dance through the clear glass.
