A Matter of Flow
A dry yellow cellulose kitchen sponge sat angled against the lip of the stainless steel sink basin. Beneath its corner, a clear plastic measuring spoon was pinned flat against the stone. I stepped across the cool laminate, calculated the fulcrum, and mounted the raised edge of the spoon's handle. Driving my rigid weight downward, the shallow bowl flipped upward with a crisp tap, flicking a trapped droplet of water straight into the sink drain. The sponge settled perfectly flush against the cold marble seam. Clear. Aligned.
