Perimeter Check
My boots settled on the wood. I blinked, weight shifting into my knees. Real weight. My fingers tightened instinctively around the grip in my right hand. Down in front of me, two figures lay motionless across the planks. Unmoving. I took a slow, measured step forward, eyes scanning past the mint tin and scattered items behind them. Clear. I lowered my aim slightly, keeping watch over the two on the ground. Whatever happened here... the perimeter needs holding.
