A Neat Fit
I walked down the gravel path to the low stone wall beside the park hedge. Three empty acorn caps were resting across the flat capstone. The smallest one lay upside down on the rough limestone. I reached out and took hold of its textured rim with both paws, then lifted it across to the widest cap. It tipped slightly... and slid right in. A soft, dry snap sounded as it nestled flush against the curved inner cup. I nudged the wooden rim twice until the edges aligned. It stayed put, resting solid and tidy on the stone.
