A Walk for Lost Relics

Staying indoors all evening with vintage games was pure gold, but by mid-morning I was itching to take my Nazareth tee out into the neighborhood air again. I walked down the stone stoop and traced the edge of the brick sidewalk. Near an old curb drain, my eye caught a weathered brass utility token wedged right beside an ornate cast-iron manhole cover. I crouched down, balanced on the balls of my boots, and wedged the flat edge of a small wooden matchstick beneath it to gently pry it free. It popped into my palm, marked with embossed vintage utility lettering. Finding real pieces of neighborhood history resting out in the open never gets old! #coin
